Citadel Strength exists because the equipment our founder wanted to train on did not exist, so he stopped modifying other people's machines and started building his own.
Benjamin Norris spent sixteen years in the industry specialising in human biomechanics, and modifying almost every machine he ever trained on to make it move correctly. Citadel Strength exists so that nobody has to do that again.
The frustration was always the same. A machine's resistance should match the way the body actually gets stronger through a movement: heavier where you are strong, lighter where you are weaker. Almost no other brand on the market was doing this. Citadel started from scratch to ensure not only were the strength profiles correct but the line of pull matched the muscles, and the build quality ensured everybody can use them.
Eventually the answer was obvious: stop patching other people's compromises and build the machines properly, from the joint outward, once. He and his brother started Citadel to do exactly that: no imported flat-pack, no committee, just two people who train answering to how the body moves.
Every machine is designed in-house and built by two brothers on the Sunshine Coast, from locally sourced Australian steel. Frame colour and upholstery are finished by local trades down the road, which is exactly why we can build yours in any colour you want.
The line of pull, resistance profile and pad angles are all designed to match how the body works. It is the entire reason the company exists.
Every Citadel machine uses Australian steel and is built to exceed Australian standards.
Every bearing and indexing pin is rated to over 2 tonnes, and our tolerances ensure nothing wobbles or comes loose on your gym floor.
Our machines have been tested on people from 142cm to 203cm.
A Pendulum Squat crated on the same floor it was welded on. Every machine is assembled and tested here before it goes anywhere.
Your gym, your space, the machines you are missing. We will tell you honestly which machines earn their footprint.
